Where is CAMEMIS hosted ?
There are two options for hosting CAMEMIS:
Hosting on the servers of the CAMEMIS-Team. The data is stored in a separate database for your school, no one else can see or modify your data. These servers are located in a highly secured data-center in Germany.
Hosting on your own webserver. This is possible on a variety of Linux or Windows operating systems, PHP 5.1.1 or higher, MySql 5.x. We will provide an installation package and a detailed instruction.
How much will the hosting on the CAMEMIS servers cost ?
In 2010 there is no cost for hosting your database on the CAMEMIS servers.
The rate for hosting your database on the CAMEMIS servers is 15.- Euros per month from 2011 on.
Is it possible to switch the hosting from the CAMEMIS servers to our own server ?
Yes, this is easily possible. There is no cost for switching to your own server.
When will CAMEMIS version 1.0 be released ?
Version 1.0 is scheduled for the beginning of 2011. Till then your suggestions for possibly missing functionality will be handled with priority.
Can you import our school data and how much would this cost ?
Student and staff import is already integrated into CAMEMIS. For other data we would have to know what kind of data and what format it is. An example file is very helpful to estimate the amount of work. This would be charged by an ourly rate of 60.- Euros
How much is the cost for installing CAMEMIS on our server ?
This depends on your country / our partner in your country. Please see the Team-Site to find a partner in your country.
How much is the cost for user training?

What support options are available and how much is the cost per student for these options ?

Is CAMEMIS Free Software ?
There is no cost for the CAMEMIS Software - it is free for schools from 2011 on. In 2010 the source code is not ‘free’ and CAMEMIS is not open source. We are planning to release an open source version in 2011.
